Goodrich,
Inc. is unable
to perform some necessary altitude/temperature testing with their current
chamber. This project will enable
them to perform these tests in house on products up to 18 inches by 18 inches by
18 inches. As these tests require,
the chamber will be capable of ranging from -75°C to 100°C at a maximum of 5°C/min
and from 3000ft. to 100,000ft. at varying rates.
It will decompress in 15 seconds. The
chamber will house a connector plate with approximately 100 electrical lines for
data communication to and from the component being tested.
It will also contain a window for visual checking and solar energy
emission. The final
product will have a sophisticated control system and a professional appearance.
It will be much smaller than the existing chamber.
The area that the new chamber frees up will allow Goodrich to store other
equipment and provide a better working space.
The chamber will also consume less power and run quieter; therefore, it
will be more environmentally friendly. Goodrich will save 35% by having us design and build the chamber as opposed to purchasing it directly. Training will be provided by the team members at installation, along with operation instructions, software requirements documentation, electrical system schematics, and mechanical drawings.
