Aron Bazen, Electrical

Aron has completed three co-op semesters at Goodrich, Inc.  His knowledge of the facility and personnel will be invaluable to the team.   His previous exposure to Lab Windows/CVI and C programming skills will also be a valuable asset.  Aron has worked on several small design projects at Goodrich, many involving computer controlled test equipment.  He has taken classes on Micro Controller Design, Signals and Systems, and Advanced Circuit Analysis.

Eric Fleischmann, Mechanical

Through the Co-op education program, Eric has gained experience in the areas of product design and project management. Eric has also been involved in the specification of tooling and the ordering and approval/qualification of new machinery. This will be valuable when we begin the design and order process for components.  Along with these assets, Eric has taken classes in thermodynamics and fluid mechanics, which will be of use in the design of the cooling system.  He has also had experience with control systems and code writing for several different languages.

Joshua Hoekstra, Mechanical

Joshua has taken classes on Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer and Machine Design.  These classes will be useful in the design and analysis of the pressure chamber and the cooling system.  Through his co-op experience, he has gained experience in many testing procedures, testing plans, DFMEA’s, and the new product development process.  Throughout the co-op program Joshua has also learned the use of Pro/Engineer.  He has also taken a class on ANSYS that will be useful when analyzing different components of the pressure chamber.

Aaron Miller, Manufacturing

Through co-op assignments and employment, Aaron has experience leading large projects, where he coordinated design, assembly and documentation requirements.  He has been involved in new product start-ups, which have lead to crisis management and troubleshooting techniques and have helped him learn the basics of team building and scheduling.  Education has given Aaron experience in PLC programming, design analysis software, and other mechanical design elements.  All of Aaron's experience will help during troubleshooting, testing, and problem solving throughout the duration of the project.

Laura Smith, Mechanical

From her co-op education, Laura has gained experience with many different CAD systems, primarily Pro/Engineer, as well as the importance of teamwork and team building.  Pro/Engineer can be utilized for the detail component drawings, as well as any assembly models needed. Laura has also taken classes on Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Machine Design, which included analysis of pressure vessels, and ANSYS.  This will be beneficial for the design and analysis of the cooling system and the insulation and construction of the pressure chamber.

Bonnie Taylor, Electrical

Bonnie has taken classes on Micro Controller Design, Signals and Systems, and Advanced Circuit Analysis.  During her co-op she was extensively involved with the NEC.  This should be helpful with conforming to the necessary electrical standards.  Bonnie is familiar with C++ and HTML programming.  Through both classes and co-op, Bonnie has been involved in several small design projects.  This included programming from the start through the debugging stage, which will be very helpful when writing the control programs.
